Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an umbrella term describing the software used to create a 3D digital model of building or infrastructure construction works.

This paper identifies the perceived practical and legal issues associated with the use of BIM and suggests that the risks associated with BIM are not as great as perceived and in fact exist already in standard projects; and BIM can be used with traditional delivery models.
