Anthony Harper

Karen is a partner in the Construction and Litigation teams at Anthony Harper, specialising in construction and infrastructure projects. She has built a strong reputation in construction litigation where she is renowned for smart legal advice that adds real commercial value, as well as her "technical knowledge of the construction sector" and "commercial approach". Karen advises on contract risk management, and is an expert in a wide range of construction contract claims under NZ Standard Forms and NEC contracts. She acts for clients across the sector, advising principals, contractors and subcontractors on a variety of projects and dispute mechanisms, including claims and enforcement under the Construction Contracts Act, in Arbitration, Adjudication and Court proceedings. Karen is on the National Advisory Board of the Women in Infrastructure Network (WIN), part of Infrastructure New Zealand (INZ). She was recently on the INZ international delegation to Hong Kong, Singapore and China in March 2019. Karen is also a member of the Society of Construction Law and was on the Auckland Chapter of NAWIC, the National Advisory Board for Women in Construction. Karen is a "Recommended Lawyer" in the APL Legal 500 for 2017, 2018 and 2019.
