Chris is a risk management consultant, trainer and mentor who has worked for a diverse range of organisations in New Zealand and other countries on risk and the management of risk. He has an MSc and BSc (Hons), is a Certified Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM), a Chartered Fellow of the UK Institution of Occupational Health and Safety, and a Member of the Society for Risk Analysis. Chris represents NZISM on the joint standards committee that wrote AS/NZS 4360: 2004 Risk Management (now replaced by ISO 31000 Risk Management). He is also a member of the joint standards committee on dependability and has contributed to some recent IEC standards. He is currently carrying out part-time postgraduate research for a PhD in the School of Management at Victoria University in Wellington into the effectiveness of risk assessments in informing decision makers.
