As the General Manager of Strategy and Performance at Tamaki Reneration Company, Shelley Katae has played a lead role in establishing one of the world’s largest urban regeneration projects.
Shelley and her team take a strategic approach to urban regeneration, leveraging housing development to deliver social and economic outcomes for Tamaki community.
Passionate about achieving regeneration outcomes in Tāmaki, Shelley is leading several key projects in the area including an affordable housing programme and a local employment hub which has seen almost 500 local residents employed to date.
Recently, Shelley has been instrumental in the establishment of an innovative solution for social service system re-design, using a co-design approach with key government agencies and the local community. This approach to social and economic service delivery and system re-design is establishing a reputation as an exemplar in New Zealand.
Shelley has extensive experience delivering results in complex environments where a mix of social, economic, environmental and commercial outcomes are required. She has also held strategic, operational and financial roles across NZ, Australia and Fiji, in both the private and public sectors.
