Chief Risk Officer
Cecilia Tse is the Chief Risk Officer at Auckland Council. In an organisation of the size of the Council with approximately 8000 staff responsible for a city with 1.6 million residents, this can be both challenging and rewarding. A key aspect of her role is to lead the organization in lifting its risk maturity through improving its risk culture. She leads risk, insurance and compliance teams and works with the Executive, Audit and Risk and Finance Committees and staff to build a strong risk aware culture.
A lawyer for over 20 years in both the private and public sectors before taking up her current role, she brings with her the knowledge and experience acquired from working in a large and complex organization.
Cecilia was awarded the Risk Professional of the Year 2018 Award by RiskNZ in recognition of her contribution to the risk industry both nationally and internationally. She has spoken at numerous national and international forums on risk and continues to share her experience and knowledge with other risk practitioners to help organizations lift risk culture.
