Allyson Wood is a Senior Lecturer at the New Zealand Maritime School, the Manukau Institute of Technology’s Centre for Logistics. In her role at the Maritime School she teaches in the Shipping, Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain programmes from Certificate to Graduate Diploma. Her background is Customs Brokering, Purchasing and Category Procurement, Forwarding, Shipping, Warehousing and Inventory Control within the engineering and gas sector.
Allyson is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders (CBAFF), Committee Member of The NZ Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and Academic Member of the US Institute of Supply Management (ISM). She has a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from Southern Cross University in Queensland Australia. Her Masters Industry project was based on the intangible benefits of RFID technology within the Freight Forwarding sector.
She has published a Logistics technology paper: An exploration of the New Zealand use of technology to facilitate logistics (2014) which evaluated the current state of adoption and use of Logistics Technology, encompassing both information technology and materials handling technologies, in New Zealand.
