Dr. Sarah Morgan
Dr. Sarah Morgan grew up in Taupō, Ōhope and Havelock North, and has a Bachelor of Science with Honours, a PhD in Molecular Genetics (Otago), and a GradDipT (primary). She works in the nexus space between STEM Industry and Education, focussing on community engagement.
Coming from a Research Fellowship at the University of Auckland, investigating science education translation-interventions and science literacy in 11-18 year olds from New Zealand, Tonga and the Cook Islands, Dr Morgan is now the STEM Manager at COMET Auckland, a Council Controlled Organisation and Charitable Trust, which focuses on making education more equitable and accessible across the Auckland Region.
Within her role at COMET, Sarah runs the Auckland STEM Alliance, and SouthSci: the south Auckland region of the Participatory Science Platform. SouthSci is a NZ Government initiative under the Curious Minds suite of programmes, aiming to engage New Zealanders with science and technology.
Dr Morgan is also a learning coach at Ormiston Junior College one day per week, in a STEM project-development capacity.
