Jenny Webster-Brown is the Director of the Waterways Centre for Freshwater Management; a teaching and research centre created in 2009 by the University of Canterbury and Lincoln University, to help improve freshwater resource management in New Zealand. She is a graduate of Otago University, and has worked as a water quality scientist, researcher and consultant for over 30 yrs, initially with DSIR in Wellington and with ESR in Auckland. She lectured in water quality and environmental science at the University of Auckland for 13 yrs, before moving to Canterbury in January 2010. The Waterways Centre is actively engaged in education on freshwater management, and this includes getting reliable, up-to-date information on freshwater systems to tertiary students, those employed in the water industries and regulatory bodies, and out into the community.
