Jacqueline Rowarth is Chief Scientist for the Environmental Protection Authority, a role she has held since October 2016. She has held professorial positions at University of Waikato and Massey University, and was Director of the Office for Environmental Programmes at the University of Melbourne. She obtained an Agricultural Science degree with honours in Environmental Agriculture, has a PhD in Soil Science from Massey University, and is a frequent media commentator. In 2008 she was awarded Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Agricultural Science
