Nic Peet is the Group Manager Strategy and Regulation at Horizons Regional Council. The council is responsible for the management of natural resources in the Manawatū-Whanganui Region. The council has been at the forefront of trying to manage the impacts of agriculture on water quality. Along a challenging journey the council has learned many lessons about what works and doesn’t work. Nic hails from the island of Guernsey and moved to New Zealand in 2000. He holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of East Anglia in the UK and in New Zealand previously worked for the Department of Conservation in Whanganui.
