Fady Mishriki



Fady Mishriki is one of the world’s leading specialists in the deployment of wireless power systems. He founded PowerbyProxi in 2007 and was CEO from 2007-2013 before stepping into the CTO role for 2 years. He returned to the CEO role again in 2015 and has since led the growth of the company (by over 750% last year alone) to become the largest wireless power company in the world by revenue. Fady is one of the world's true pioneers for wireless power. Whilst a student at the University of Auckland, he had the vision and drive to commercialize the technology he and others had researched. He also wanted to do this from New Zealand and grow the ecosystem here. Since that day, Fady has promoted and helped establish Auckland as the global home of wireless power and a hotbed of wireless power talent. He was recently awarded the University of Auckland’s Young Distinguished Alumni Award and also The Spark (now Velocity) Entrepreneur of the Decade Award in recognition of his achievements. His perseverance saw him secure investment and partnerships with some of the largest companies in the world. Today, he has a global following and is seen as the foremost identity in wireless power by many Fortune 500 customers, executives, major standards groups and industry forums. Building on over a decade of ground breaking research, PowerbyProxi was founded in 2007 as a spin-out of the University of Auckland’s world leading wireless power department. The company designs and develops safe, high efficiency and high density wireless power products. The company’s name is a play on the words “Power by Proximity” reflecting Fady’s vision that surfaces, not sockets will deliver power to all of our digital devices in the future.
