Nicholas Dynon is Chief Editor of Defsec Media’s enterprise and national security publications New Zealand Security Magazine and Line of Defence Magazine. Since arriving in New Zealand several years ago, he has held business development and marketing positions in several border and private security sector organisations. Previously, Nicholas served 14 years with the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection, which included overseas postings to Shanghai, Beijing and Suva. A graduate of the Royal Military College of Australia, he has served part-time in the Australian Army as a non-commissioned officer and then commissioned officer. Nicholas’ writing has appeared in a wide range of media, policy and scholarly publications, and focuses on geostrategic rivalry, counter-terrorism, the protection of crowded places and public spaces, and championing new thinking on public-private collaboration to deliver better safety and security to New Zealanders.

Craig Sheridan APM is a retired Police Commander, NSW Police Force with thirty years’ experience. Craig was NSW Police Commander of the State Planning Unit, Major Events and Incidence Group with key responsibilities being strategic leadership, public order management, emergency management, strategic planning, and risk management. Craig was NSWPF key contact for the Department of Premier and Cabinet and was responsible for activation of the Police/ Government Operations and Coordination Centre in the event of a major incident or emergency. Since retirement from the NSW Police Force in 2015 Craig established Sheridan Consulting Group Pty Ltd and Sheridan Security Group Pty Ltd and is Managing Director. Sheridan Consulting Group works with key organisations such as Destination NSW and Tourism Australia, AFL, Supercars and numerous government departments, commonwealth, state and local. Craig holds the position as Lead Security and Risk Advisor to many mass gathering events in Australia, the Asia Pacific Region and the Middle East. Craig also works with venues, stadiums and facilities providing risk, security and emergency management guidance for large international organisations such as Salesforce, USA Basketball Tour, Concerts and entertainment. Internationally, Craig’s most recent appointment is ‘Senior Advisor’ Operations G20 2020 Saudi Arabia for the Secretariat and ‘Master Planner’ for the 89th National Day Celebrations Saudi Arabia in the City of Abha. Sheridan Consulting Group provides security services internationally and across Australia both for public and private organisations in the areas of strategic risk and security management. Craig has had notable membership appointments as Director, Asia Pacific Special Olympics Board from 2012, Member of Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics Command “Strike Force Eagle” Incident Management Team, Member of NSW Government Events Operations Group - Executive (policy development), a member of NSW Police Force Strategic Intelligence Board, Member of OSAC – Overseas Security Advisory Council – US Department of State and currently holds Secret and Top Secret National Security clearance. Craig holds an Executive Master of Public Administration, an Advanced Diploma in Police Management, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, Advanced Diploma is Security Risk Management, Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems, Diploma of Event Management and Cert IV in Frontline Management (Business).

Neil’s career extends across 21 years in military intelligence, five years in law enforcement and ten years leading three government regulators in the sectors of: health services, human/social services, and workplace relations. Neil was most recently the NSW Registrar of Community Housing which is a statutory appointment reporting to government on the suitability and performance of companies to manage risks associated with the provision of shelter to our most disadvantaged. Neil is the Chief Executive of Intelligence Rising – a consulting and online training company for intelligence and compliance professionals. Neil has lived experience in building better-practice regulatory outcomes, has independently reviewed regulators’ performance, and has provided international consulting services to a large number of regulators across many government sectors. He has also published two authoritative texts on intelligence and regulation. His company provides skills based and introductory courses for intelligence, regulatory, compliance, and enforcement officers and managers.
