Organisational Resilience is the ability of an organisation to adapt to changes, to respond to sudden shocks and to shape itself to survive and prosper in the face of long term challenges. Building resilience is a strategic imperative for an organisation to prosper in today’s dynamic, interconnected world. It draws on multiple interrelated management disciplines such as risk management, crisis management, business continuity, disaster management, health and safety, information security, environmental management, and facilities management.

This course will explore the concepts of resilience to understand key mechanisms that organisations should develop to best cope with ongoing and continuous change and to recover from adversity. At the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand the principles of organisational resilience and why it is important for organisations to enhance their resilience in today’s dynamic business environment
  • Master the approach and techniques for developing effective resilience strategies
  • Assess how effective risk management, crisis management and business continuity contribute towards building organisational resilience

Kenny has over twenty-seven years of international experience in developing, implementing and managing business continuity and crisis management programs to protect organisations from the impacts of major incidents and disruptive events. He has extensive hands-on operational and consulting experience across government and industry, including financial services, health, education, transportation and logistics. Kenny was conferred the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Australasia and Global Awards for Continuity and Resilience Consultant 2017. Kenny is a qualified ISO 22301 Lead Auditor and Trainer, and has a Bachelor degree in Psychology and Computer Science, Master degree in Business Administration and Specialist Diploma in Disaster and Emergency Management System. He is a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), Approved BCI Instructor and former Director of BCI Australasia. He is also a volunteer rescue team member with the Western Australian State Emergency Service.
