Rheumatologist & Clinical Director - Person and Whanau Centred Care

Peter Gow is a rheumatologist and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Counties Manukau Health (CMH), with academic interest and expertise in the management of gout. In this role he has been involved in the development and early adoption of health IT programmes, including the HQSC Atlas of Variation (big data), electronic referrals, and the shared care plan for long term conditions, which he has presented at international conferences. His leadership roles include membership of the CMDHB Executive Management Team from 1997-2007 in his role as Chairman of the Clinical Board, and more recently ex officio membership of the National Health IT Board, in his role as Chair of the National Information Clinical Leadership Group. He is currently Clinical Director of Adult Rehabilitation and Health of Older People, and of Person and Whanau Centred Care at CMH, and a passionate advocate for co-design at both clinical and advisory levels of the health system
