2020 EA/PA of the Year

This award category is open for candidate submissions and nominations on behalf of a candidate

Entries for the New Zealand EA/ PA of the Year will recognise the pre-eminent individual who shows excellence in all areas in the role but also demonstrates the ability to go above and beyond the role and lead initiatives that add value to the organisation, its people, key stakeholders and customers. Finalists in this category may be requested to interview individually with the judging panel, following the shortlisting process, and will need to be prepared to make themselves available.

Our highest award, winners can truly be regarded as the best of the best. Becoming a finalist or winner announces to your employer and to your profession, that you have reached the highest level in your chosen profession. You will have all of the skills required to effectively operate at board and executive level and communicate and operate in such a way that your impact on your organisation is consistently felt. 

Submissions must include one or more detailed testimonials from manager(s) and entry details should provide detailed examples illustrating how the nominee excels in the following areas: 

  • Communications skills
  • Sound business judgement
  • Managing line and inter-departmental communications
  • An excellent and productive working relationship with their manager(s)
  • Managing confidentiality and privacy
  • Providing support to their manager, Executive Leadership Team or board
  • Initiatives for improvement – include details of how the nominee has contributed or led projects that have added value to the organisation
  • Being an Ambassador of excellence for their organisation

2020 Event Team of the Year Award

This award category is open for team submissions and nominations on behalf of a team

This award celebrates events made successful by a team. Corporate meetings, AGMs through to client functions, community events, fundraisers and Christmas parties – event teams master them all. Whether large one-off events, a series or small events are the focus, more often than not budgets are tight, briefs sketchy and deadlines hard and fast! This award recognises the skill and attributes that combine to create great results – whether it be inhouse event teams to event project leaders supported by expert suppliers or a partnership approach.

Submissions should include details and supporting material on successful events produced in the year prior to the close of nominations, including objectives, challenges and setbacks faced, management of communications with decision-makers/budget holders, logistics and any promotional material produced. The judges will be looking at successful event outcomes as well as superb team cohesion. Particular emphasis in judging will be given to entries that demonstrate creative thinking in overcoming risks or unexpected disruptions and/or impressive results compared to budget.

  • The team could be inhouse or include external suppliers or partners and could work across multiple sites or branches
  • A single, designated point of contact must be provided

2020 Support Star of the Year

This award category is open for candidate submissions and nominations on behalf of a candidate.

This award recognises and acknowledges an outstanding support star working in any area of administrative/office support function. The support star of the year could be a receptionist, administrator, personal assistant or team assistant, working in any area of the organisation they could be in an administrative support role, a customer facing role or be working entirely behind the scenes - this award celebrates those unsung heroes that keep the heart of New Zealand businesses ticking!

Nominees will be enthusiastic and proactive and demonstrate company values and a desire to assist colleagues and managers wherever possible and a commitment to ongoing improvement. The Judges will look to recognise an individual who has a skillset they are utilising to contribute to the wider goals of the support team, company or department, someone who shows a real passion and flair for their role. Submissions could highlight the nominee’s communication skills, their contribution to the greater good of their team, examples of how they go above and beyond and exceed expectations, show initiative beyond the role, manage productive working relationships with their manager(s) or team. 2020 Office Support Team of the Year Award

This award category is open for team submissions and nominations on behalf of a team

This award will be awarded to a team who work as a group to deliver excellent support to their organisations, consistently delivering over and above expectations. They will work extremely well together to achieve specific objectives and provide a good support network for not only their own teams but those who they work with on a daily basis. They will support each other and make sure the business or department runs smoothly with a consistently high level of work delivering the required outcomes. The Judges will recognise teams which have contributed to companywide communication, process improvement, technology implementation, company or department culture and wider contribution to the business. The submission should include examples where the team has contributed towards achieving organisational objectives and added value, company or department wide. This award celebrates those support teams that make a difference! Teams are able to nominate themselves and employers, bosses, HR, Marketing, Sales & Finance teams are encouraged to nominate their outstanding support teams.

  • The team must work for the same parent company but can work across multiple sites or branches
  • A single, designated point of contact must be provided
