Chris was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) – the world’s leading professional body for marketing - in March 2016 following a number of successful senior roles. In this position, Chris has implemented an effective strategy and transformation programme to modernise the organisation that supports over 30,000 members across 132 countries. Chris has used his role to promote a consistent high standard of professionalism in marketing, which has proven to deliver a business advantage to both individuals and organisations. Chris is also a regular commentator in the media on the issues that affect the marketing profession. A veteran of the business, Chris joined CIM in June 2001 as Operations Manager for the Training Division and has held various positions of authority across the organisation ever since. This included being Director of Membership and then Director of Customer Experience, with responsibility for CIM’s membership and sector groups both across the UK and internationally. Gaining a BA in Modern History, Politics and Russian Studies from Durham University, Chris acquired a broad spectrum of management experience from roles in the City, the British Army with The Blues and Royals, Household Cavalry Regiment, and the Public Sector, working in the Central Office of Information and being seconded to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Chris is a Fellow of both CIM and the RSA (Royal Society of Arts).

Universal Studios Hollywood (USA)
Mariela Ure is Chief Marketing Officer at Universal Studios Hollywood. She is responsible for the overall brand direction of the entertainment landmark including the Theme Park, Studio Tour and CityWalk entertainment, dining and shopping complex. A 20-year marketing veteran, Ms. Ure assumed her current role with Universal Studios Hollywood in 2018. Previously, she was with Wells Fargo & Company, where she held various corporate marketing strategy roles over the past seven years. In her most recent position as SVP and Head of Consumer Segments Strategy, Ms. Ure led the development of cross-enterprise segment strategies to grow market share in the U.S. Prior to that, Ms. Ure spent eight years with Bank of America’s Corporate Headquarters in a variety of advertising and marketing communications roles. She began her career in the marketing department of Walt Disney World in Florida. Throughout her career, Mariela has been recognized for her leadership and contributions to the U.S Hispanic community. Most recently she was recognized as one of “Top 50 U.S. Hispanic Influentials” by Hispanic Business Magazine. A native of Puerto Rico, she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Ms. Ure resides in Los Angeles.
