National Cyber Policy Office
Heather Ward has been the Principal Adviser in the National Cyber Policy Office of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet since September 2013. The National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) was set up within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in July 2012. It leads the development of cyber security policy advice for government and advises on the in vestment of government resources in cyber security activities. Heather Ward is leading the refresh of New Zealand’s Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan (announced by the Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media in April 2018).

Burdan is responsible for spearheading the company’s Cybersecurity GTM and joined Dimension Data Asia Pacific in 2006. In this current role, he is responsible for the execution and strategy for the security solutions portfolio that supports Dimension Data’s clients in assessing, planning, building, and operating their environment. Burdan owns solutions strategy and business development activities. He leads a regional team of Sales & Solutions Architects in designing and delivering end-to-end Security solutions and consulting services in physical, virtualised and cloud infrastructures.

Jon joined the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in July 2018. Immediately prior to joining Jon was the Head of Trust & Safety at Trade Me. Jon was heavily involved in Trade Me’s introduction of transparency reporting and managed teams responsible for privacy operations, fraud investigation, compliance, intellectual property enforcement and dispute resolution. Prior to Trade Me, Jon headed up the Complaints & Investigations team at the Real Estate Agents Authority and spent a number of years as a Senior Investigator at the Commerce Commission. Jon is Deputy Chair of Netsafe and sits on the Consumer NZ Board.

Jeremy is Theta’s Head of Cyber Security and has been at the front line of cyber security for the British government for over 16 years. He is highly experienced in nation-state cyber operations and trained by the NSA (and others) in cyber, space and information warfare. Jeremy has directed numerous successful offensive cyber operations in support of UK security objectives and has led various cyberwarfare initiatives and programmes at the highest level.He brings his unique perspectives on security for organisations to enhance their prosperity through better understanding and mitigation of cyber risk in all its forms.

Tony Krzyzewski is widely acknowledged as a pioneer across a number of information technology sectors in the Australasian region. Over the past 42 years in IT he has been involved across many sectors of the industry. For the past 24 years, he has specialised in cybersecurity and is an evangelist for effective security controls in the Government, local government and commercial sectors Tony is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of IT Professionals and is a New Zealand National Expert on the International Standards Organisation Information Security Standards body. He has recently been active in the update of the Center for Internet Security CIS Controls, as well as in the ongoing Global Cyber Alliance DMARC and Quad9 campaigns. In May of this year, he was appointed as one of eight Global Cyber Alliance Ambassadors Tony is co-founder and Director of SAM for Compliance, a cloud-based service that assists organisations to assess, manage, improve and report on compliance with published standards and to improve their internal cybersecurity posture.
