Voices of Hope

Voices of Hope was founded in 2014 by Genevieve Mora and Jazz Thornton. Both being mental illness survivors who felt the need to use their past experiences alongside their passion for creating content to provoke and bring change. Since the launch of Voices of Hope, their content has received both national and international recognition and has caught the attention of companies wanting to support their vision.

Dr Katie Fitzpatrick

Katie Fitzpatrick is an Associate Professor and Head of School in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland. Her research and teaching are focused on issues of health education, physical education and sexuality education, as well as critical ethnographic and poetic research methods. She has published over 50 articles and book chapters in these areas, as well as 6 books. She has a background teaching in New Zealand high schools, and also led the writing of the policy: Sexuality Education: A guide for Principals, Boards of Trustees and Teachers (Ministry of Education, 2015) ,and co-authored a teaching resource for mental health education: Mental Health education and Hauora: Teaching about resilience, interpersonal skills and wellbeing (NZCER, 2018). Katie is a current Rutherford Discovery Fellow with the Royal Society of New Zealand.

Colin Donald

Colin is a Professional Expert at the University of Auckland’s Centre for Education Leadership supporting and developing the Growing Great Leaders™ course and delivering leadership PLD. Colin has a background in senior education leadership spanning 25 years, including seven years as principal of King’s High School. In recent years he has led school reform and school leadership projects in the Middle East and completed contracts with the Ministry of Education and NZQA. Colin’s time in the First-time Principals’ Programme includes mentoring a number of First-time Principals, reporting the programme outcomes to the Ministry of Education, participating in the FTP regional seminar programme and being co-Lead Mentor for the central south region. Within the Centre for Education Leadership Colin has responsibility for overseeing marketing activities and takes a lead role in promoting the Centre’s programmes to clients in the Middle East and Asia.
