The eworld ev Champions Awards acknowledge Electric Vehicles as a unique and disruptive industry in New Zealand in its own right. The Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate those individuals, businesses and communities that are championing success, service and progress.

Most EV Friendly Town of the Year

This award category is open for submissions and nominations

Open to those New Zealand towns and cities who are prioritising investment into policy, infrastructure and resources to promote the use of electric vehicles (this may include cars, buses, bikes etc) within their community. Tell us about your town’s EV journey so far and the vision you have for your town’s EV future. 

Please submit your entry outlining:

  • Your town/city's vision and policy to promote the use of EVs
  • A precis of you prioritisation and commitment of resources
  • Key initiatives that have been deployed in the past 12 months and next 12 months
  • Key outcomes for your community

EV Champion of the Year

This award category is open for nominations only

This award is designed to recognise New Zealand individuals who are passionate about the promotion, uptake and ongoing success of EVs in this country. They may be doing this through either business or community avenues and will have the future of EVs in New Zealand, at the forefront of their advocacy work. The Judges will look for an individual who has been influential in the EV community and has significantly contributed to making a visible difference in EV education or promotion. Detailed nominations for innovative, passionate champions who are dedicated advocates for the EV sector, are what the judges are looking for in this category.

Please submit your entry outlining:

  • Your understanding of the nominee’s vision and their commitment to promoting the uptake of EVs and electric bikes in New Zealand
  • How the nominee is assisting this vision to be achieved (give examples of how they are going about achieving the vision and successes they have had)
  • How the nominee’s advocacy work impacts other EV users and prospective converts


Fleet Champion of the Year

This award category is open for nominations and submissions

This award recognises an organisation that goes above and beyond in their commitment to EVs in their commercial fleet. The Judges will be looking for a company who is actively converting their fleet to EVs and have in place a fleet management and development plan which shows an ongoing plan for EV implementation.

Please submit your entry outlining:

  • A summary of your business, its revenue, its position in the market and the value proposition to your customer - why EVs are important to you and your market/customer
  • Your business fleet profile over the last 5 years why you have taken the decision to include EVs within your fleet
  • The key outcomes realized through having EVs in your fleet and business
  • Your fleet plans for the next 2 years

EV Sales and Service Award

This award category is open for nominations and submissions

This award will recognise those organisations who are resourcing and delivering excellent support, training, products and service around Electric Vehicles (all forms) in New Zealand. This award is open to nominations from recent purchasers of EVs (all forms and purchased after 1 January 2017) and submissions from service providers. Have you experienced exceptional service from an organisation providing products and services for EVs in New Zealand? Are you providing that exceptional service in support of EV purchasers and drivers? This may include but is not limited to EV/Ebike sales or hire, Insurance, Vehicle/bike service support or charging.

Please submit your nomination outlining

  • A summary of your business, staffing and service proposition
  • How EVs (all forms) fit into your overall product and service proposition
  • Your education and service strategy and measurement of customer experience and satisfaction
  • Any testimonials from customers to support your application
