Paul Fawcett is Associate Professor of Public Policy in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne having previously held positions at the University of Sydney (2009-2013) and the University of Canberra (2013-2019). Paul has published widely in the fields of governance, public policy and public administration. He regularly works with public servants and other key stakeholders on critical governance problems. Paul's research has been funded by the Australian Research Council and he teaches into the Master of Public Policy and Management at Melbourne. He holds a PhD in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Birmingham.

Phil has a range of PR and strategic relationship experience across the corporate, NGO and public sectors. He began his career as a Dominion and NZ Press Gallery reporter then spent 8 years in London promoting and defending BBC journalism. He won the 2002 PRINZ Supreme Award for a sustained Government relations initiative and in 2015-6 made life interesting via volunteer comms stints in post-quake Nepal with the IFRC. Like any good ENFP, he enjoys a challenge.
