DEVELOPING SKILLS TO ALIGN PEDAGOGY IN INNOVATIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS

The New Zealand education sector is embarking on a transformation journey with the Government’s recent announcement on the 10-year investment into school assets. With some schools operating in modern facilities implementing innovative learning environments, and others in their early stages, this workshop is aimed at principals, senior management, curriculum leaders who are responsible for establishing teaching practices within their school’s innovative learning environments.

 

  • Getting to the bottom of an ILE – understanding what this really means for both teachers and students across primary, intermediate and high school
  • Gaining insight on effective pedagogy with hands-on activities
  • Helping teachers ease into effective teaching methods in an ILE
  • Equipping teachers with the knowledge and tools to operate in an ILE
  • Providing guidance on how teachers and students can collaborate in an ILE

Rich currently sits on the board for Upper Harbour Primary School and eTV Trust. He is the Innovation Advisor to Tech Futures Lab and our resident Champion of Change. Rich specilises in challenging and disrupting the status quo. He is an expert in systems and design thinking, agile methodologies and building innovation capability with in teams and business. He is on a personal crusade to make the world a better place so the circular economy is a topic he is particularly passionate about. Rich's background is in law and education and he holds a Master of Science (Computing) from Keele University in the UK. His passion for developing inquiring and creative minds is paired with a strong belief that a child’s mental well-being is much more important than their grades.
