Roger Dennis

Strategic Innovation Expert

Roger Dennis works in the continuum between foresight, strategy and innovation. In 2006 he co-led the Shell Technology Futures programme for the GameChanger team in The Hague, is a member of the core team for Future Agenda - the world’s largest foresight programme - and has worked across a range of industries. His thinking has been referenced in numerous publications including the FT and Scientific American. Roger is a frequent speaker at events around the world, and presented on cities, data and climate change at the 2015 Nobel Laureate Symposium in Hong Kong.

Grant is currently the Chief Financial Officer of NZX50 listed Restaurant Brands New Zealand Limited. He has been a Chartered Accountant for 35 years and he’s worked in the corporate sector for most of his career, and in a number of finance roles with major New Zealand companies. He has a military background serving in the army reserve for 21 years, and was latterly President of the Auckland Officers’ Club and Chairman of its Investment Committee. He has also served his local community as treasurer of the local primary school, resident association and yachting and boating associations.

Kieran Sweetman is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for managing CentrePort’s Group Finances. Kieran joined CentrePort in March 2013 after a career spanning a cross section of industries and sectors including a partner in Ernst & Young; Finance Director of MWH Asia-Pacific; and CFO roles at Ngai Tahu Holdings Corporation and AMI Insurance . Kieran is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Commerce degree from Auckland University.

Tim is the Chief Financial Officer at Christchurch International Airport Limited (CIAL) having officially taken up this role in March of 2012. Tim began his career with Ernst & Young in London, obtaining his CA qualification during four years with the company in the UK. He then spent 18 months working within the Treasury Finance department of a UK bank in a role where he was responsible for control over dealing operations. Tim immigrated to New Zealand in 1995 and worked with Ernst & Young until commencing his role at CIAL. During his time at the Airport Tim has overseen the re-build and subsequent growth of the Airport beyond the post-quake period, encompassing unprecedented growth in passenger numbers, the acceleration of its property development program and recognition of the Airport’s contribution to the City, the South Island and New Zealand.

Tony Alexander

Tony Alexander has been employed as Chief Economist at the Bank of New Zealand, since 1994 with responsibilities including informing senior management about economic developments and prospects, risks and opportunities, and provision of services for the bank’s staff and client base. Prior to joining the BNZ Tony worked as principal economist at a stock broking firm in Wellington and before that as a Research Officer, then Treasury Economist with Westpac Bank initially in Sydney, Australia, then New Zealand from 1987. He spends considerable time researching and writing about the New Zealand economy with special attention to SMEs, housing, and the role of Auckland in the NZ economy and speaks at numerous functions around the country advising businesses on what the future is likely to hold. He holds a Master of Arts degree (first class honours) from the University of Canterbury. He is the father of five children, his wife is one of New Zealand’s foremost early childcare researchers, and he lives in the countryside north of New Zealand’s capital city Wellington.

Tracy joined the Staples Rodway consulting team in 2007, bringing over twenty years' experience in industry, gained at a variety of companies, from multi-nationals to small and medium enterprises, in Europe and New Zealand. Her role now focuses on working with businesses on governance, due diligence, financial modelling and valuations. Tracy is a Chartered Management Accountant, a member of CPA Australia and the Institute of Directors, with a Joint Honours degree in Accounting and Management and a Masters in Management.

Matt Dagger is General Manager of Kaibosh Food Rescue. Kaibosh is based in Wellington and is New Zealand’s first food rescue organisation. Kaibosh links the food industry with community groups that support people in need ensuring that quality surplus food reaches those who are struggling rather than being needlessly discarded. This benefits both our community and our environment. With a background in Community Development, Matt thinks there can be nothing crazier in this world than quality surplus food being thrown away when people don’t have enough to eat. Matt sees Kaibosh’s food rescue service as an important contribution to community groups that are working hard help those less fortunate.

Louise Aitken

Louise was appointed Chief Executive of the Ākina Foundation in October 2017, having joined the organisation in February 2016 as General Manager, overseeing operational management of the Foundation. Prior to Ākina, Louise was with Fonterra, New Zealand’s largest company, where she worked for 11 years, both in New Zealand and in the US. Following four years looking after The Coca-Cola Company, Louise was privileged to lead Fonterra Milk for Schools, New Zealand’s largest Corporate Social Responsibility programme, and KickStart Breakfast, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Sanitarium. Her passion for sustainability and social impact was ignited, which lead her to join Ākina. Louise brings a wealth of experience in leadership, operational excellence, strategy development, governance and commercial insight. Relationship management is a core strength and is an important asset for Ākina. Louise has been involved in The Springboard Trust since 2015 as a Capacity Partner, supporting the strategic development of principals in our education system and is also proud to be on The Misprint Co Advisory Board.

When Michelle first joined Kilmarnock in 2010 she did so with great ambitions. To change attitudes towards people with disabilities and create a diverse, and inclusive community that respects the fundamental dignity of each and every one of us and celebrates our individual abilities. In early 2013, Michelle was appointed as CEO of Kilmarnock, a not-for-profit organisation, who provide a supportive, dynamic and connected environment where adults with intellectual disabilities can realise their individual value as a contributing member of their community. Michelle has spent much of her career in the corporate world, developing and refining the skills needed to run an efficient and effective business. Driven by business excellence and social change, Michelle embarked on the daunting challenge of transitioning Kilmarnock from a charity based model, to one of New Zealand’s leading social enterprises. Michelle has transformed Kilmarnock’s culture into one that is creative, aspirational, and enthusiastic. She turned the dire financial situation around by diversifying and stabilising contracts and introducing new, previously unimaginable, revenue streams. Transitioning to a Social Enterprise has enabled the organisation to leverage business excellence to greatly enhance its social value while providing a fun, connected environment where the team is inspired to take command of their future and show the community that we all have strengths, regardless of our disabilities. Prior to joining the disability sector, Michelle spent over one and a half decades working in the Telecommunications sector, gaining a wealth of business experience at both a national and global level. Commencing her career within the Corporate Sector, Michelle’s entrepreneurial hunger gave life to an extremely successful business venture in the early 2000s, which saw the rise of Timico Ltd, one of the fastest growing B2B Telecommunication providers in the UK. In 2009 Michelle and her family, made the decision to leave the UK, in order to pursue a better work life balance, and have been enjoying living in New Zealand ever since.
