Production Optimisation

About

Production Optimisation is a two day in depth course aimed at operations personal, that will give you a clear understanding of the principles of process plant optimisation including the measuring of production versus targets, identifying constraints and how to overcome them.

Key Learning Objectives:

Understand and demonstrate principles of plant optimisation, including key factors:

  • Process control
  • Safe operation
  • Setting realistic targets
  • Reporting and measuring deficits

Who Should Attend?

Facilitator

Howard Thomas

Howard began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1989 when he successfully completed a 1st class honours degree atNewcastleUniversityin Chemical & Process Engineering. Howard has to admit that he quit University after two years, fed up of mathematics and not enough practical experience, he worked as an operator with Dow Chemicals in Germany, before returning to finish the degree.

He worked with Exxon Chemicals Olefins Inc. specialising in plant optimisation before moving on to hold further positions at Altra Consultants in1996 and Real Time Engineering in 1998, before starting his own company TAM Consultants in 2002.

In July 2006 Howard bought into Performance Improvements (PI), to continue providing engineering consultancy and engineering solutions to the international oil and gas industry. In 2009 Performance Improvements (PI) was acquired by AMEC Plc. And Howard was asked to expand the business internationally by relocating toAustraliaand opening a branch of PI down under.

Boasting some 23 years Process Operations experience, 14 years consultancy experience and 8 years as a Company Director.  Howard is a Chartered Engineer and member of the MIChemE. Howard has worked on countless hydrocarbon installations all over the world, both on and offshore; from upstream oil and gas to petrochemical and chemical processing. Howard is a rare combination of a multi-disciplinary Performance Improvement Specialist with a strong commercial understanding of the hydrocarbon industries.
